A total of 24 young boxers from Ogun State's four sporting zones are getting ready for their first big event at the RIYE U-17 Boxing Circuit. This event will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Alake Sports Centre in Ijeja, Abeokuta.

Hon. Tunde Delu is organizing the event under the Young Athletes Yield Initiative. The aim is to give young boxers a chance to show off their skills and gain important competitive experience. This is also a step towards their future careers in boxing.

Athletes, coaches, sports officials, and boxing fans are expected to come together for this celebration of grassroots sports. It promises to be an exciting event for everyone involved.

Besides the competition and prizes, this initiative aims to spot talented boxers from Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, and Egba. This gives them a chance to develop their skills and chase their sporting dreams.

The venue has been recently renovated for the 2024 National Sports Festival, also known as the Gateway Games, which Ogun State will host.

Five young boxers are highlighted as ones to watch at the circuit.

Ajadi Sulaimon, who goes by “Sula,” is a 15-year-old male boxer weighing 49kg. Born on February 12, 2011, he is eager to test his skills against his fellow competitors.

Olaoye Esther, known as “Iron Lady,” is a female boxer weighing 48kg. At 16 years old, she hopes to take full advantage of this platform to display her talent and determination.

Alayande Rokeebat, nicknamed “Slow Poison,” is another female boxer who also weighs 48kg. At 17 years old, she is ready to show her boxing skills and competitive spirit alongside other young talents at the event.

Hassan Khadijat, known as “Kay Star,” is a 15-year-old female boxer weighing 50kg. She is preparing to take this opportunity to showcase her talent and gain valuable experience in competition.

The organizers have promised that they will do everything possible to make sure the circuit is top-notch in all aspects.
