Abia 2027: The Truth Cannot Be Hidden

The same sad scene met Abians at every junction and corner. Unlike the Igbo saying “Ihe Oma na Anya Gbaba Ndu” (There is a covenant between the eyes and good things), in the past, we had “Ihe Ojo na Anya Gbaba Ndu” (There was a covenant between the eyes and bad things). Our people accepted this fate calmly during that time.

This situation lowered the reputation of every Abian both at home and abroad. It dragged our dignity through the mud. It turned Abia and its people into subjects of mockery.

Most of the opposition, especially those bitterly attacking the current government and Governor daily, are not doing it for good governance. No! They want to bring back the bad times they profited from. They know that those days are gone, but they are scared to admit it.

The noise is not about good governance. If it were, they would have demanded it when they were in power. Instead, they would have been honest enough to see the big changes happening in Abia under Governor Alex Otti. It is about their own greed. It is about the resources they mismanaged when they were in charge. It shows their shamelessness, their lack of repentance, and their self-deceit.

As the election year comes closer, we will not fall for the distraction tactics the noise makers are using through false information. We will not waste time responding to staged lies or trying to explain to those who refuse to hear the truth. Instead, we will focus on telling our story, which is true and can be backed up.

We will present clear facts about what we have achieved, while also admitting where we have not done well and explaining what we are doing to improve.

In 2023, Governor Alex Otti made promises to Ndi Abia. They trusted him because of his character, skills, and past achievements, and voted for him. Now, he and his team will show what they have accomplished. Fortunately, our people are smart, aware, and sharp. They are telling the story even better than the government because they suffered the most from the poor governance before. They can feel the change and they are sharing it.

The countdown begins!
