Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has officially appointed Mr Olayemi Sanusi and Mrs Adenike Ademokun as commissioners. He urged them to prioritize the state's interest over personal gain, political disagreements, and sectional ties.

Abiodun spoke on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. He encouraged the new commissioners to show integrity, humility, fairness, and a commitment to public service.

The governor asked them to be accessible to the people, listen to their concerns, and manage public resources wisely. He emphasized that their roles should lead to real benefits for the citizens.

He also highlighted the need for continuity in governance. He urged the commissioners to keep institutional knowledge, maintain accurate records, and ensure that ongoing projects and programs are completed.

Abiodun advised them to understand his administration's priorities and get familiar with the status of current projects. He encouraged them to bring fresh energy, good judgment, and a strong sense of responsibility to their work.

“Public confidence grows when citizens can see that those they entrusted with leadership understand their needs and act to address them,” he stated.

The governor further encouraged the new commissioners to work as a team, respect the professionalism of public service, and collaborate effectively with the ministries, departments, and agencies under their supervision.

“Your ability to listen, inspire confidence, make informed decisions, and translate policies into outcomes will determine your impact on our mission,” he noted.

Abiodun stressed that the value of public office should be judged by the problems it solves and the opportunities it creates. He added that the State Executive Council's job is to build on existing successes, address unfinished tasks, and leave Ogun State stronger and more prosperous.

He described this period as the final stretch of his administration. He said the remaining months require urgency, discipline, political maturity, and a strong commitment to excellence.

“We are now in the final lap of this administration. This period demands urgency, discipline, political maturity, and a steadfast pursuit of excellence.

“Your appointments come at a very important time. You are joining a government that has made significant achievements and has important responsibilities ahead.

“History will judge us by the impact of our decisions and how our service has changed the lives of the people.

“Let us, therefore, approach the coming months with a clear purpose and a determination to seize every opportunity,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed commissioners, Mrs Adenike Ademokun thanked the governor for the trust placed in them. She assured him that they would not take their appointments lightly.

She promised their commitment to doing their best in support of the administration’s efforts to sustain development and improve the welfare of residents across the state.
