As the Ekiti State governorship election on June 20 gets closer, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is ready to increase efforts to mobilise eligible voters for its candidate, Dare Bejide, through a door-to-door campaign.

The ADC has set up committees to prepare for the election. The contact and mobilisation committee is specifically told to focus on the party’s manifesto, which covers education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth employment.

In a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Sunday by Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Dare Bejide Campaign Council, the ADC urged the committees to ensure the party wins.

The statement said, “The Contact and Mobilisation Committee has been tasked with voter sensitisation and door-to-door engagement as focus will be on explaining the ADC’s manifesto and addressing concerns around education, healthcare, agriculture and youth employment.”

The ADC also mentioned that it formed a national campaign council and various campaign committees with over 100 members. This is to manage grassroots outreach, media engagement, and policy communication as the election approaches.

These committees include the campaign council, media and publicity committee, contact and mobilisation committee, policy and protocol committee, and youth and women engagement committee.

The ADC explained that “the party settled on a decentralised structure to ensure that campaign activities reflected local issues.” Each committee has a clear task, and local coordinators can adjust their strategies to fit their areas.

The media and publicity committee will handle press relations, social media, and broadcast appearances.

The policy and manifesto committee is expected to simplify the ADC’s campaign promises into specific proposals. It includes professionals in education, health, and engineering who will help turn policy ideas into practical plans for the state.

Youth and women leaders are given important roles in this new setup. They will organise rallies, voter education sessions, and other programmes aimed at securing victory in the governorship election.

Logistics and security sub-committees have been created to manage the movement of campaign materials and ensure all electoral rules are followed. The party is also working with relevant agencies to make sure everything goes smoothly before and during the election,” the statement concluded.
