The Presidency has stated that the list for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election is still valid. However, some changes will be made to its structure.

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, shared this update on Wednesday. He spoke during an interview on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily.

His remarks came as there was some debate about the council's makeup. Some party leaders were included while others were not, leading to rumors that the list was being reviewed.

Dare explained that the list is still active because the campaign structure is not fully formed. Several subcommittees are yet to be set up.

"As it is with every other list, there's a room for subcommittees. Those subcommittees have not been formed, and so many other names will come into that subcommittee," he said.

He also mentioned a statement from the APC, confirming that the list has not been withdrawn.

"So that list has not been withdrawn. The APC has issued a statement to that effect yesterday, that list stands.

"But of course, there will be adjustments. The list is not cast in stone, just like every other list," he added.

The campaign council, which was announced over the weekend, has President Tinubu as chairman. Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda are the vice chairmen.

Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, who is a former Governor of Zamfara State, has been appointed as the Director-General. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as the secretary.

When asked if the expected changes meant a review of the council, Dare clarified the difference between the two terms. He said changes will only occur where necessary.

"Not a review, just adjustments where necessary," he said.

Dare further explained that a review would mean a complete overhaul of the current structure.

"Review is wholesale, this is not wholesale," Dare said.

He added that the upcoming subcommittees would allow more party members and political stakeholders to be involved in the campaign structure.
