The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Justice Forum has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to recognize and reward party members who helped the party succeed in the 2023 general elections.
In a statement released to celebrate Democracy Day on Friday, the group said democracy gets stronger when the sacrifices made by political actors at the grassroots level are acknowledged and rewarded.
The forum noted that many APC members in Oyo State played important roles in gathering support during the 2023 elections. They worked hard at ward and community levels to secure victory for the party.
The forum believes these contributions should be reflected in political appointments, empowerment programs, and federal government support.
"Democracy thrives when sacrifice is remembered, and loyalty is rewarded," the group stated.
The Justice Forum described grassroots mobilizers as the backbone of the party’s electoral success. They emphasized that these members' ongoing commitment depends on being included and recognized.
The group urged the President to ensure that stakeholders in Oyo State who backed the party’s success are not ignored in governance decisions.
"Rewarding loyalty is not patronage. It is justice. It is the surest way to strengthen the APC in Oyo State ahead of 2027," the group added.
The group also sent Democracy Day greetings to Nigerians and promised to support the APC-led government.
