The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won in the home area of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Wole Oloyede, during Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
Votes counted at Ugele/Aroku Ward, where Oloyede is from, showed that the APC got 769 votes. The PDP followed with 683 votes.
This result was confirmed by the Registration Area Centre (RAC) supervisor around 8:30 p.m. The APC has an 86-vote lead in this key ward of the election.
Ugele/Aroku Ward has eight polling units. Voting and counting finished before the result sheet was officially certified.

From the ward results, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) got 11 votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) received three votes.
Other parties like the Labour Party (LP), the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), and the Youth Progressives Party (YPP) each got just one vote.
This result is important because Ikere Local Government is a major voting area in Ekiti State and the home of the PDP candidate.
The election on Saturday was mostly peaceful. But there were some complaints, mainly about vote-buying.
As counting continues across the state, everyone is watching key local governments that could decide who wins the governorship race.
INEC will announce the final results after all local government areas finish counting and declare the state-wide outcomes.
