A youth group in the All Progressives Congress, called the Renewed Hope for Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative, has announced plans to gather 10,000 youths from all over Nigeria. This is part of their strategy to secure votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The group also promised to gather 20 million votes for Tinubu from all 774 local government areas in the country.
During the launch of this initiative on Sunday in Abuja, the group’s President, Abayomi Odediran, mentioned that they would train youth ambassadors in each state. These ambassadors will promote and explain the successes of the Tinubu administration.
Odediran said, “The party has nothing to worry about. RHYDEI is ready and fully prepared to work for the return of the President. We will work to ensure the President gets 20 million votes across the country.
“We shall take Renewed Hope to every ward in the 774 LGAs. From Sokoto to Bayelsa, from Borno to Lagos. This is how we are going to achieve it.”
He explained that the initiative will recruit 10,000 youth ambassadors to connect with Nigerians on the streets, on social media, and in markets.
“Another way we intend to achieve this is through our ambassadors. We are mobilising 10,000 youths across all states to defend the President’s achievements on the streets, social media and in the markets,” he said.
Odediran also mentioned that RHYDEI plans to work with Federal Government agencies. Their goal is to ensure at least one million youths benefit from skills training programs, grants, and loans before the 2027 election.
“We will show them that Renewed Hope is working,” he said.
The group's announcement comes as many pro-Tinubu youth organizations are ramping up their efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
