Arsenal's Offer for Osimhen Rejected by Galatasaray

Galatasaray has turned down Arsenal's offer that included striker Viktor Gyökeres and €30 million for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan, through Nexus Sports, shared that Arsenal officials went to Istanbul to persuade Galatasaray to sell their star player. But Galatasaray stood firm and did not agree to the deal that would have sent Gyökeres to them in exchange for Osimhen along with the cash.

Galatasaray sees Osimhen as one of the top players in football today. They have stated they will not discuss a sale unless the offer meets their price, which is reported to be between €130 million and €150 million.

The club's confidence comes from Osimhen's impressive performance in Istanbul. Since he joined permanently, the Nigerian player has scored 59 goals and made sixteen assists in 74 games across all competitions. These achievements have helped Galatasaray win two consecutive Turkish Super Lig titles and regularly compete in the Champions League.

Osimhen has also become a fan favorite under coach Okan Buruk. Arsenal's interest in him is not new. Their sporting director Andrea Berta had visited Istanbul before to keep an eye on Osimhen. The latest offer comes as questions arise about Gyökeres' adjustment since moving from Sporting CP in 2025.

Getting Galatasaray to sell Osimhen is not easy. He signed a four-year contract in July 2025 that runs until June 2029. This deal is said to be the biggest financial package ever given to a player in Turkish football, worth about €21 million net per season, including salary, loyalty bonuses, and payments for image rights.

Galatasaray paid Napoli €75 million for Osimhen, who also has a ten percent sell-on clause in the deal. There is an additional agreement that stops Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to any Italian club before 2027 without facing a hefty financial penalty.

Despite all the rumors, Osimhen has not shown any desire to leave. He has had positive talks with Buruk and other club officials before getting back to pre-season training. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also said that everything is under control, with Osimhen happy in Istanbul unless an English club makes a very attractive offer.
