BAP Productions’ Dear Kaffy Wows London Audience

BAP Productions’ stage play, ‘Dear Kaffy, Diary of a Single Woman in Lagos’, has just wrapped up its show in London. The play received a lot of praise, filling the venue for all three days from August 7 to 9 at the Shaw Theatre on Euston Road.

This production brought Nigerian theatre, humor, and storytelling to UK audiences. People in the audience enjoyed the show and showed their excitement with laughter and applause.

The play earned positive feedback for its performances and storytelling. It presented a Nigerian story in a way that connected with both Nigerians living abroad and the wider London theatre crowd.

One big result from the London show was a stronger demand for Nigerian theatre in the UK. Some audience members and people in the theatre industry suggested that BAP Productions should come back to London every summer with a new show.

Growing Interest in Nigerian Theatre

The success of Dear Kaffy also shows that there is more interest in African stories and stage plays around the world. It also highlights BAP Productions’ goal of sharing Nigerian stories and talent with global audiences.

The London performance was supported by Access Bank UK, along with partners like Bank of America, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Industry, Channels TV, WimBiz, Lagos Mums, Beat FM, Molly Africa, Africa Movie Channel, Heavy Wind Media, University of Westminster, and Bridge Clinic.

Bolanle Austen-Peters, the Director of BAP Productions, shared her thoughts on the audience's warm reception. She thanked everyone who attended and the partners who helped make the show a success.

She said, “We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to see Dear Kaffy. The response has been extraordinary. To have a full house at every performance and to hear audiences asking us to return every summer is incredibly encouraging.
