Dr Betta Edu, the Director of Women Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, is sure that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election.

Edu shared her thoughts on Monday at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme. This event took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, organised the summit under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity, One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.” Edu praised the First Lady for bringing the programme together and for her efforts in mobilising and supporting women across Nigeria.

According to her, women in the APC have started mobilising in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of their plan for the 2027 election. “We are moving into the 2027 electoral season with purpose, structure, and determination. Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it. President Tinubu will win again,” Edu stated.

She explained that the mobilisation will happen across the states, local government areas, wards, communities, and polling units. The goal is to create a grassroots network that connects with women and shares the policies and programs of the Tinubu government.

Edu noted that the campaign will not just focus on rallies. It will also highlight opportunities for women in business, agriculture, skills training, governance, and community development. She urged APC women to stay united and organised for the election.

“40 Million Women Votes! One Coordinated Mobilisation! One Voice, One Movement, One Mandate for 2027,” she said.

During the event, Edu led the crowd in chanting that Tinubu would win the 2027 presidential election. This chant got the First Lady, the Vice-President's wife, the Senate President's wife, over 30 wives of state governors, and other guests on their feet, singing and dancing along.

The event also saw the attendance of the Vice-President's wife, Hajia Nana Shettima; the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma; former APC National Chairman, Umar Ganduje; and many other dignitaries and women stakeholders from across the country.

The programme included an empowerment segment where women received support items like motorbikes and farm trucks to help boost their livelihoods. The First Lady handed out some of these items to the beneficiaries before having a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other important guests during the event.
