Body of woman discovered in Jos wildlife park

The body of a woman has been found near a stream in the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.

This discovery happened on Thursday morning.

Security sources reported that the body had suspected machete cuts on her face and arm.

Officials were alerted about the body around 9:30 a.m., leading to their deployment to the forest reserve.

A staff member of the park, who asked to remain anonymous, said workers found the body and quickly contacted security operatives.

"We woke up and discovered the body and immediately contacted the security operatives," the staff member said.

"The security personnel came to the scene and began their initial assessment while trying to find out what happened."

As of Thursday afternoon, the reasons behind the woman's death were still unclear.

Security authorities have started an investigation into the incident. They are working to identify the deceased and find out how she died.

Attempts to reach the security authorities for official confirmation were unsuccessful by the time this report was filed.
