Bournemouth achieved a stunning 3-0 win at home against 10-man AC Milan on Thursday. This victory marks Bournemouth's third win in their first three games in the Europa League.
Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier scored from penalties in the first half. This put Bournemouth in a strong position against AC Milan, a top club in Europe.
Milan's goalkeeper and captain Mike Maignan received a red card early for fouling Tyler Adams. After that, Milan struggled to recover.
Amine Adli added a brilliant free-kick in the 84th minute to make the score 3-0. Bournemouth started their first Europa League campaign with a win at Real Sociedad and followed it up with a 3-0 win over Sturm Graz last week.
Bournemouth is the first English club since Sunderland in 1973/74 to win their first three European matches. They will now face Sparta Prague and Celta Vigo in November.
“It means a lot. We came off two victories, so that gave us a good feeling for this game,” Kluivert told TNT Sports.
“We trust ourselves. It doesn’t matter who we play against. We know what we’re capable of, and I think we showed that today.”
Juventus Draws with Rennes
Juventus thought they had turned the game around against Rennes, a French team, but their late goal was ruled out for offside.
Zeki Celik scored for Juventus just five minutes into the match. But, a poor clearance ten minutes later allowed Musa Al-Taamari to score and level things up. Right before halftime, Boulaye Dia scored to put Rennes in the lead.
Juventus equalized to make it 2-2 after a handball led to a penalty converted by Nick Woltemade. The biggest moment came when VAR disallowed Jhon Lucumi’s strike in the 88th minute, denying Juventus a late winner.
