A young boy named Hassan Haruna from Bena in Kebbi State has survived a kidnap attack on Shagari Road. Sadly, he lost both his parents and the family driver during the incident.
In a video shared on social media, Hassan explained that he was in a vehicle with his father, mother, and their driver when armed kidnappers struck.
He said the attackers killed his father and the driver before taking him and his mother into a forest.
Hassan revealed that his mother died while they were held captive in the kidnappers’ hideout. He managed to escape and found his way out through the Kucheri forest area in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
After escaping, Hassan was taken to a hospital for medical care and is now recovering.
Sharing his story, Hassan said he was traveling with his parents when the attackers came, killing his father and the driver. They then took him and his mother into the forest.
He also talked about how his mother passed away during their time in captivity before he found a way to escape.
Efforts are underway to find Hassan’s relatives and reunite him with his family. People, especially those in Bena and nearby areas, are being asked to help with any information that could lead to his relatives.
Hassan’s experience has led to calls for prayers for his deceased family members and support for him as he recovers from this traumatic event.
“Imagine surviving captivity only to come out without your father and mother,” one message related to the appeal said.
It continued, “May Allah forgive his parents, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and give Hassan the strength to live with this painful loss.”
