Brila Media and the Nigerian American Football Association (NAFA) are renewing their partnership for another year. This collaboration has helped shine a light on American football, giving fans better access to the stories and talents that are pushing the sport forward in Nigeria.
The renewed partnership combines Brila Media's skills in sports media and audience engagement with NAFA's efforts to grow American football and flag football across Nigeria. Together, they will keep working to raise the profile of the sport, its players, competitions, and community programs.
This partnership comes at a thrilling time for American football in Nigeria. After Nigeria's impressive showing at the first African Flag Football Championship, the men's and women's teams qualified for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Düsseldorf, Germany. This achievement puts Nigerian athletes in the spotlight on a bigger international stage.
For Brila Media, renewing the partnership with NAFA is part of a bigger plan to share more stories about Nigeria's sports scene. This includes sports that are growing beyond just football.
“At Brila Media, we believe that visibility can change the trajectory of a sport. American football is growing in Nigeria, and there is a lot of talent and potential that deserves to be seen and heard. We are pleased to continue our partnership with NAFA and to use our platforms to tell these stories, connect more people with the sport and support the growth of the game in Nigeria.”, Debbie Izamoje Okolie, CEO, Brila Media
The partnership will allow Brila Media to keep supporting the visibility of NAFA’s competitions, athletes, development programs, and key initiatives through radio, digital content, and on-site events. It will also create chances for interviews, features, event coverage, and other storytelling methods aimed at bringing the sport closer to larger audiences.
For NAFA, this renewed partnership builds on the success of the first year of working together.
“Last year, Brila came on board to help amplify American football in Nigeria, and the partnership proved incredibly valuable in expanding the visibility of the sport. We are excited to renew that partnership this year as we continue to take American football to wider audiences across Nigeria and Africa. For us, this represents more than media visibility; it is about building awareness, growing participation, and creating opportunities for the next generation to engage with the sport.”, Nancy Damhindi, Vice President, Nigeria American Football Association (NAFA).
The relationship between both organizations started in 2025, when Brila Media became a Zircon Partner of NAFA’s Gridiron Gems initiative. This initiative supports efforts to increase the visibility and participation of women and girls in American football.
The renewed partnership builds on that foundation. Both organizations are looking to create more chances for grassroots development, school programs, athlete stories, women’s participation, competitions, and Nigeria’s growing role in international flag football.
