Bello Abdullahi, the elder brother of Nura Abdullahi, the chairman of Bungudu Local Government in Zamfara State, has died from gunshot injuries. He got these injuries during a bandit attack.
On 25 July, bandits attacked the chairman’s home in Bungudu town. They kidnapped him and two other people living in the area.
Bello was a former treasurer at the State Ministry of Finance. He ran to help the chairman during the attack.
He suffered serious gunshot wounds during the raid.
Jamilu Bungudu, who works as a media aide for Abdulmalik Zubairu, the federal lawmaker for Bungudu/Maru Constituency, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that Bello Abdullahi died from his injuries on Monday.
This attack has now resulted in five deaths. Four security personnel were killed during the initial raid.
At the time of this report, the local government chairman and the other kidnapped individuals were still being held captive.
