The Caledonian Charity Cup is back at Ikoyi Club 1938 on October 30. Twenty-five teams are ready to join the 18-hole tournament to raise money for an orphanage in Lagos.
The Lagos Caledonian Society is in charge of this event. The money raised will go to Foster Paradise Homes, an orphanage in Lagos State that looks after orphans, abandoned kids, and other vulnerable young people.
This tournament also celebrates Scotland’s golf history. It uses sports to encourage giving, community spirit, and friendship.
The teams will play under names of Scottish towns connected to golf. Some of these names include Milngavie, Gullane, Carnoustie, Dundee, North Berwick, Musselburgh, Dornoch, and Blairgowrie.
The competition will use a shotgun start. This means all teams will start playing at the same time from different spots on the course. It will be a friendly but competitive atmosphere.
After the games, participants and guests will meet at the clubhouse for lunch, an awards ceremony, and a live auction. Trophies and prizes will be given to the winning teams.
The auction offers guests more chances to support the charity's fundraising goals.
Corporate partners have also jumped in to support the event. Their help will ensure the tournament runs smoothly and meets its charitable aims.
The Lagos Caledonian Society is teaming up with Concierge Sports to manage the event. The money raised will help children and young people at Foster Paradise Homes.
