It was a historic night for the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon as they won their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Rabat on Sunday.

They beat Malawi 3-0, with two goals from Ngah Manga and another from 21-year-old midfielder Naomi Eto.

Cameroon had lost four WAFCON finals before, 1991, 2004, 2014, and 2016. Now, they are the fourth nation to lift the continental trophy after Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and South Africa.

The Scorchers relied on sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga during their strong run to the final. But in this match, both players were kept quiet.

Though Malawi did not win, they made history by reaching their first WAFCON final and qualifying for their first World Cup.

Cameroon will join Malawi, Algeria, and Morocco at the 2027 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

According to information from the official X handle of CAF Women Football on Sunday, here is the list of award winners at the TotalEnergies WAFCON 2026 tournament:

Golden Boot Award

Temwa Chawinga (Malawi): Five goals

Woman of the Competition

Monique Ngock (Cameroon)

Best Goalkeeper
