CEVA Logistics, a top global logistics company, and EFL Africa, a major logistics player in Nigeria, have announced a new partnership in Nigeria called CEVA EFL Limited. This joint venture is an important step for both companies to grow their business and strengthen their position in key markets around the world.
Nigeria is one of the largest logistics markets globally and acts as a key entry point to West Africa. The CEVA EFL partnership boosts the presence of both CEVA Logistics and EFL in Nigeria, making them important players in the West African logistics space.
CEVA EFL combines EFL’s strong local knowledge and operational skills in Nigeria with CEVA Logistics’ vast global network and logistics services. CEVA operates in over 170 countries, ensuring smooth connections between Nigeria, West Africa, and the rest of the globe. Together, they aim to provide integrated logistics solutions that meet the changing demands of businesses in Nigeria and nearby areas.
Better Services for Customers
The joint venture will offer various fast and efficient services to customers in Nigeria, such as dedicated barge operations. They can move shipping containers from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots (ICDs) using the barges, which reduces the need for road transport and cuts down transport times significantly. The joint venture also has a solid ICD infrastructure, with 140,000 square meters of space in two locations, Ikorodu and Apapa, along with an export processing terminal, EPT. They also provide customs clearance services through their licensed team, ensuring quick and reliable customs processing.
The partnership between EFL and CEVA Logistics is set to bring great benefits to Nigeria. It will introduce a global logistics leader into the market, encourage knowledge sharing with local workers, and help EFL grow and strengthen its position in the area.
Sylvain Kluba, Vice President of Finance IMEA at CEVA Logistics, said: “This joint venture represents a bold step forward in our commitment to connecting Nigeria and West Africa to the world. By combining CEVA’s global reach and logistics expertise with EFL’s deep local knowledge and infrastructure, the CEVA EFL joint venture is uniquely positioned to deliver seamless and reliable solutions to our customers. Together, we are creating a logistics ecosystem that drives growth and unlocks new opportunities in this high-potential market.”
Yemi Adunola, CEO of EFL, said: “We are thrilled to partner with CEVA Logistics to launch CEVA EFL. This collaboration underscores our shared vision of transforming logistics in Nigeria and West Africa. By combining our strengths, we are addressing the challenges of this market while creating value for our customers through efficient, integrated and customer-focused solutions. CEVA EFL shows our commitment to driving progress and economic growth in the region.”
