Chelsea and Johor End Match in 3-3 Stalemate

Chelsea drew 3-3 with Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta’zim in a pre-season friendly at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Sunday.

Johor scored first in the 14th minute. Arif Aiman found the net from close range after the home team launched a quick attack.

Chelsea equalized just before half-time. Liam Delap earned a penalty and scored, placing the ball into the bottom corner.

In the 62nd minute, Delap scored again to put Chelsea ahead. He converted another penalty after Jamie Gittens was fouled in the box.

Johor responded quickly, leveling the game in the 65th minute. Oscar Arribas took a free-kick that deflected off Delap and fooled goalkeeper Gaga Slonina.

The Malaysian side took the lead again in the 86th minute. Brazilian forward Bergson scored with a 20-yard shot into the corner.

Chelsea managed to equalize three minutes later. Mykhailo Mudryk's cross hit Cristian Glauder and went into the goal.

The match was tense, with seven yellow cards handed out throughout the game.

A planned penalty shootout was canceled after the match, but the reason was not clear.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso used a completely different starting lineup after the team played AC Milan just a day earlier. Mamadou Sarr was also replaced before kick-off.

Chelsea will head back to England for their final pre-season match against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, August 15.
