The City Boy Movement has announced its plans to rally eligible voters in all 33 local government areas of Oyo State. This is aimed at supporting President Bola Tinubu's re-election and helping other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Femi Onireti, the state director of the movement, shared this news on Monday. He spoke during the launch of the movement’s local and state executive councils at Jogor Centre in Ibadan.

Onireti, who was represented by Olumide Alli, the Director of Mobilisation, called on members to focus on the movement's common goals.

He stated, "The goal of the movement is to re-elect and elect Tinubu and other candidates of the APC at all levels during the 2027 elections."

Onireti praised Tinubu's administration, saying, "The Tinubu-led administration has made its mark in all the sectors of the economy, and, as a result, he deserves a second term in office. The movement has perfected a strategy to mobilise eligible voters across the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo for the re-election and election of both President Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the party in the state."

He further added, "Tinubu in the past three years has touched all the sectors of the economy. He has continued with all the projects inherited from the previous administrations. Some have been completed, while others are ongoing and receiving the Federal Government’s attention."

Onireti concluded by urging Nigerians to allow Tinubu to continue his work in 2027.

In his speech, Moses Adeyemo, the state chairman of the APC, encouraged the movement to use its large numbers to boost the party’s chances in the local government areas.

Adeyemo noted, "The nation’s population figure shows that the youth population is more than any other age group. That is why we are calling on you to maximise this to the advantage of the party in 2027."

He added, "Other contending political parties cannot match our party in terms of the qualities of the candidates that we are presenting for the various elective positions. However, what we need to do is to work as a team and dissipate our energies on how to win the elections in 2027."

Looking ahead, the 2027 general elections will see political parties working hard to engage voters and strengthen grassroots support. They will prepare for presidential, governorship, and legislative positions.

In Oyo State, the APC and other political parties are gearing up to build support across all 33 local government areas before the elections.
