Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will keep him at the club until 2034.
Palmer was already tied to the Premier League team until 2033. His new deal adds another year to his time at Stamford Bridge.
"Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to sign and I’m obviously very happy," the 24-year-old said.
"Speaking to the owners, to the sporting directors and obviously the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence, so it was only right to sign.
"Speaking to players as well, everyone has the same ambitions. I feel like we win major trophies here consistently and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it, too."
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023. He has contributed a total of 91 goals and assists in 138 games since arriving in west London.
Last season, he had a tough time with a groin injury. He was also left out of the World Cup squad by England coach Thomas Tuchel, which raised some eyebrows.
Tuchel mentioned that Palmer has "missed too many opportunities" to play for England after he withdrew from the squad for the recent Nations League matches.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso backed Palmer on Friday. He said Palmer is dedicated to England and just needs to be fully fit to show his best for both club and country.
Despite last season's issues, Palmer has started this season well. He has scored four goals in seven matches across all competitions.
His close friendship with Morgan Rogers helped convince the England midfielder to join Chelsea from Aston Villa this season.
Palmer’s new deal is the latest among Chelsea stars that extend into the 2030s. Recently, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto also signed long-term contracts.
