Ekiti 2026: APC Rally to Show Support for Oyebanji's Re-election

The Ekiti All Progressives Congress (APC) 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council has announced that their Grand Finale Mega Rally will take place on Tuesday, ahead of the June 20 election. This event aims to show the strong support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji as he seeks a second term.

The rally will bring together Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, APC governors, party leaders, members of the National Assembly, ministers, and thousands of excited supporters from both Ekiti State and beyond. Everything will happen at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion on New Iyin Road in Ado Ekiti.

Taiwo Olatunbosun, the Director of Media and Communication for the Campaign Council, said in a statement on Sunday that "the Grand Finale Mega Rally is in support of the re-election of Governor Oyebanji and his Deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, who are the APC governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively for the June 20 election."

Olatunbosun pointed out that this rally marks the high point of a big grassroots campaign that has reached every ward, community, and local government in the state. He said it is expected to be one of the largest political gatherings ever in Ekiti State, showing the people's strong support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term.

The media director also stated that the mega rally follows numerous endorsements of the governor from traditional rulers, professional groups, market associations, artisans, youths, women, civil servants, retirees, religious leaders, and political stakeholders from different parties. He added that "the rally is expected to showcase the broad coalition of support that has crystallised around Oyebanji’s leadership."

The planned attendance of the Vice President, APC governors, and other senior party leaders highlights how important Ekiti State is to the APC. It also shows the party's confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s performance, popularity, and ability to build on his administration's successes.

Since he took office, Governor Oyebanji has received praise for his effective governance in key areas like infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, security, tourism, and economic growth. His approach to governance has brought Ekiti citizens together, aiming for progress and prosperity.

The campaign council believes that the widespread acceptance of Oyebanji’s re-election bid shows the trust and confidence people have in him. Whenever the campaign team visited, citizens openly appreciated the governor’s humility, accessibility, responsiveness, and dedication to delivering democratic benefits.

The Grand Finale Mega Rally will celebrate the administration's achievements and affirm the commitment of Ekiti people to maintain the peace, stability, development, and inclusive governance that define the Oyebanji administration.

The rally is expected to send a strong message of unity and show that Ekiti people want to continue the progress made over the last four years. It will highlight that support for the continuation of the progress agenda cuts across political, social, and generational lines, as emphasized by the Council.

The campaign council has promised that there will be enough security and logistics for all participants. They also urged attendees to behave peacefully and follow all security and traffic management rules.
