Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has apologised to her colleague Laide Bakare. This comes after her reaction to Bakare’s name during a recent podcast interview. Badmus is urging an end to their long-standing feud.

Badmus shared her apology in a personal statement on Instagram on Tuesday. She acknowledged that her reaction during her chat on Isbae U’s “Curiosity Made Me Ask” podcast might have seemed dismissive.

“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” she wrote.

She addressed Bakare directly, saying, “Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well.”

Badmus said that personal growth includes learning from past experiences and moving on from disagreements. “We’re all growing, learning and becoming better versions of ourselves. Sometimes maturity is simply knowing when to let go and move forward,” she stated.

She ended her message by asking for peace, saying, “Joo maa binu. No negativity. No grudges. Let love lead and peace reigns.”

This apology comes after a clip from Badmus’s time on Isbae U’s podcast went viral. In the clip, the host named Bakare as one of his favourite actresses.

Badmus was seen hissing and changing her facial expression after Bakare’s name was mentioned. This reaction caught attention on social media and reignited discussions about the tension between the two actresses.

In March 2024, Badmus seemed to mock Bakare’s outfit at Bakare’s book launch. Bakare wore a white outfit with an orange cape, which received criticism online.

Badmus took to Instagram and asked, “Ewo ninu yin lo wo Aso Pastor Ajidara. Abeg who??” Many took this comment as a jab at Bakare’s outfit.

Bakare replied, expressing her disappointment that her colleagues focused on her flaws instead of her successes. She also questioned why Badmus, whom she called a childhood friend from their University of Ibadan days, chose to criticise her.

The disagreement flared up again in April 2025 at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film, Owambe Thieves, in Lagos. Videos online showed a heated argument between the actresses. Badmus reportedly stated they were not friends and asked that they not be filmed together.
