FC Midtjylland striker, Friday Etim, has been named Player of the Month for September 2026 in the Danish Superliga. He earned this honor after a great performance in front of goal last month.
The Nigerian forward scored three goals and provided one assist in the Danish league. He also scored in a Cup match against Sundby BK on September 10. This performance has brought him his first individual award since he joined Denmark’s top league.
Etim moved to Midtjylland from CD Mafra in Portugal. His contract with the club runs until 2029. He had a good time in Portugal, where he also played for Vizela.
He beat out FC Copenhagen players, Diant Ramaj and Asger Sørensen, to win the monthly award.
The 24-year-old was very happy to receive the award. He believes his scoring helped Midtjylland have a good month.
“I’m happy with the award. It’s been a good September for me. Of course, you’re happy to score three goals as a striker because that’s the way I can help the team, among other things,” Etim said on FC Midtjylland’s official website.
“Now it’s about continuing, because there is still a lot of work for us to do. I hope and believe that this is just the beginning.”
In September, Etim played for 334 minutes. He averaged a goal or assist every 83 minutes. He also recorded the most shots on target (nine), the most ground duels won (25), and the most sprints (96) among all Superliga players in that month.
