Fire Breaks Out in Lagos Building

A fire broke out in a room on the top floor of a one-storey building in Mushin, Lagos State. The fire destroyed household items in the room.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency shared this news in a statement from its Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency's Alpha Eagle Team, which is based in Cappa, got the distress call at 1:26 PM. They arrived at the scene on Oke Arin Street, Mushin, in good time.

When the team got there, they saw that a room on the top floor was fully on fire. The situation looked serious at first.

The Eagle Response Team, LASEMA Response Unit Fire Team, and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service joined forces to put out the fire. They worked together to keep the flames under control.

“The inferno was successfully contained, completely extinguished and dampened down to prevent escalation to nearby structures,” he explained.

Oke-Osanyintolu mentioned that the cause of the fire is still unknown. They could not figure out what started it right away.

He also said that thankfully, there were no injuries or deaths reported from this incident.
