The Nasiru Haladu Danu Foundation donated a pickup van and N2 million to Guzape Police Division in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday.
The Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, Nasiru Danu, said this donation is part of their effort to support security agencies. He wants to promote peace and safety in Abuja.
Danu believes the new vehicle will help police work better in the area.
“This gesture is intended to encourage officers of the Division to remain more vigilant, proactive, and committed to their duties of protecting lives and property. We believe that the provision of this vehicle will enhance patrol operations, improve response time to security emergencies, and strengthen the Division’s capacity to combat crime within Guzape and its surrounding areas,” he stated.
Mr Danu praised the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for their hard work and commitment to keeping the peace. He encouraged officers to make the best use of the items they received.
“The Foundation recognises the sacrifices and dedication of security personnel in maintaining law and order. We hope this donation will encourage officers to continue discharging their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism, and a renewed commitment to public safety.
“We urge the Division to make effective and responsible use of the vehicle for security patrols and other official duties in the interest of the public,” he said.
Mr Danu also mentioned that since the Foundation started, it has been helping communities with donations. These include support for education, healthcare, poverty relief, community building, religious projects, and help during humanitarian crises across Nigeria, especially in the North and nearby areas.
