Federal Road Safety Command, Ogun State Sector Command, has urged drivers to be patient and stop driving against traffic. This is especially important on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Sector Commander, Mr Oludare Ogunjobi, shared this advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.
Ogunjobi explained that heavy rain on Tuesday caused flooding on the expressway. This led some drivers to go against traffic and caused a jam.
“The FRSC is appealing to motorists to be patient, reduce speed and avoid driving against the flow of traffic,” he said.
He warned that impatience and breaking traffic rules would make traffic worse.
Ogunjobi added that FRSC officers and other traffic managers were present to control the situation on the expressway and bring things back to normal.
NAN reported that heavy rain on Wednesday made many drivers spend hours stuck on the expressway.
