Governor Dauda Lawal has named three qualified people to lead two important state agencies and a big development project.
The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, shared the news about the appointments. He said these decisions are to support the government's ongoing reforms and improve services in public health, agriculture, livestock development, and community-based projects.
Dr Muhammad Habibu Yelwa is now the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Substance Abuse and Control Agency. Dr Usman Ismaila Gusau has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Livestock Agency.
Additionally, Governor Lawal has reappointed Abdullahi Mohammed Nakwada as the State Project Coordinator for the Zamfara State Agricultural and Community Development Project (ZACADEP). All appointments take effect immediately.
Dr Muhammad Habibu Yelwa is a well-experienced medical doctor and administrator. He has a lot of knowledge in health, social welfare, and agriculture. He has worked as Permanent Secretary in many ministries and has played a big part in important policy changes in the state.
Dr Usman Ismaila Gusau is an expert in veterinary medicine and public health. He has over twenty-five years of experience in veterinary services, epidemiology, livestock health management, and public sector management.
Abdullahi Mohammed Nakwada is a skilled agricultural development expert. He has worked for many years in agricultural extension, project management, IFAD-supported programs, and community development projects. He is currently the State Project Coordinator for ISDB ZACADEP.
Governor Lawal urged the appointees to use their skills, administrative experience, and expertise to bring real development in their roles, following his administration's Rescue Agenda.
