Erling Haaland has not scored in the last two games for Norway.
Man City and Norway striker Erling Haaland is a doubt for Manchester City as they prepare to face Liverpool in the Premier League. This comes after he limped off during Norway’s 2-1 defeat to Portugal in the Nations League.
According to BBC Sport on Sunday, Haaland signalled to the bench and was subbed off in the 67th minute. Jørgen Strand Larsen took his place. We still don't know how serious the injury is.
This injury is a big concern for City, who are set to visit Liverpool on Sunday.
Haaland has scored seven goals this season. Manager Enzo Maresca will worry if he cannot recover before the match.
Earlier in the game, Haaland had a chance for Norway but missed. His side could not avoid losing for the third time in a row in the Nations League.
Norway scored first in the 36th minute. Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer controlled a cross from Martin Ødegaard on his chest and fired a great half-volley into the top corner.
Portugal quickly responded. João Cancelo hit a powerful shot into the net from the edge of the box just two minutes later.
Gonçalo Ramos then sealed the comeback with 11 minutes left, scoring from close range after a lay-off from João Félix.
Portugal ended the match with 10 men. Francisco Conceição was sent off in the 87th minute after getting two yellow cards for dissent.
This win put Portugal in the Nations League quarter-finals. Norway, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the group with two games left.
Manchester City is now waiting for more news on Haaland’s injury before facing Liverpool on Sunday.
