Ibom Air, the airline owned by Akwa Ibom State, has appointed two new executive directors to its board. This move aims to help the company grow in a new direction.
The airline announced that Mfon Udomah is now the executive director of finance and Eno Udoma-Eniang is the executive director of legal and corporate affairs. This statement came out on Monday.
Both directors are expected to start their roles right away, but their appointments still need approval at the company’s annual general meeting planned for November.
The board also shared news about the retirement of Uko Udom. He has been the Akwa Ibom State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and served on the board for five years.
Mr. Udom, a senior advocate of Nigeria with over 40 years in aviation law, received praise for what he contributed to the airline.
The board did not provide more information on why he retired or if there would be other changes in management or operations.
Mr. Udomah is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He was the Director of Funds in the Office of the Accountant-General for Akwa Ibom State. He brings over 30 years of experience from both the private and public sectors.
Ms. Udoma-Eniang is a legal expert with more than 30 years in corporate affairs. Her experience covers telecommunications, consumer goods, financial services, and new technology, as stated in the announcement.
With these appointments, the airline is putting finance and legal and corporate affairs under the leadership of the two new executive directors. This comes as the airline's board prepares for what they call a new phase of growth.
