Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, will represent Nigeria in beautiful outfits inspired by home. She will take the stage at the Miss World finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Saturday.
Before the final event, the 26-year-old beauty queen showed off her evening gown and costume. Both designs reflect her Nigerian roots and heritage from the Niger Delta.
On Instagram, Karibi-George shared pictures of her evening gown. She described the outfit in green, white, and green as a representation of the Nigerian flag.
"Green, white and green, tonight, I wear home," she wrote.
Karibi-George expressed her desire for Nigeria to "speak without saying a word" through her gown. She mentioned that every detail in the outfit represents the flag she has carried during her journey and the country that has given her the strength to compete globally.
"As I take this final walk, I do so with immense pride, knowing that wherever I go, Nigeria goes with me," she said.
Costume Inspired by Nature
She also revealed a costume called the "Amazon of the Mangrove." This outfit is a tribute to the strength of women, the beauty of the Niger Delta, and the bond between its people and their environment.
"Tonight, I take the Miss World stage carrying a story that is deeply rooted in home," Karibi-George said.
She added that the costume represents the resilience of her people and is “a piece of the place that shaped me.”
Karibi-George goes into the finale after a fantastic performance. She won the Top Model for Africa title on August 28. This win over contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya, and South Africa secured her a spot in the Top 40.
On Friday, the Federal Government called on Nigerians to vote for Karibi-George. The Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, praised her performance and encouraged support from Nigerians.
Karibi-George was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6. She won among 20 finalists at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. She represented Bayelsa State and took over from Joy Mojisola Raimi.
The Miss World finale is set for 7 pm Vietnam time on Saturday. A total of 111 national representatives will compete for the crown.
The reigning Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, will take her final walk before crowning her successor at the seaside event in Nha Trang.
The finale will be hosted by the 66th Miss World, Stephanie del Valle, and reigning Mr World, Danny Mejía. This event wraps up a month-long festival for the pageant.
