Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has fired all his advisers, assistants, and the deputy chief of staff.
A statement from the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola, revealed that those sacked include special advisers, advisers, special assistants, and assistants to the governor.
The decision also includes the principal private secretary to the governor.
"His Excellency thanks all the appointees for their valuable service to the state. He wishes them all the best in their future endeavors," Mr Agboola said in the statement released early Monday.
The governor has asked all those affected to return any government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary of the State Government.
Mr AbdulRazaq, whose second term will finish at the end of May next year, is aiming to win a Senate seat under the All Progressives Congress.
