The Lagos State Government has arrested 45 beggars, which includes adults and children, during enforcement operations in Oshodi, Agege, and CMS areas of the state.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, shared this news in a statement on his X handle on Wednesday.
Wahab mentioned that 22 beggars were caught in Oshodi and Agege, made up of adults and a few teenagers.
He added that 14 adults and nine children were also arrested at CMS during the operation.
"Earlier today, in a separate enforcement operation, our team caught 22 beggars at Oshodi and Agege, which included adults and a few teenagers.
"Additionally, 14 adults and 9 children were caught at CMS," Wahab said.
Wahab also mentioned that they are continuing clearance operations in other areas, including Admiralty Way in Lekki and Addo Road in Ajah.
