A security guard in Lagos, Adebanjo Samuel, has been praised for his honesty after he returned a customer's lost $9,100 while on duty at a First City Monument Bank branch in Marina, Lagos.
This event took place on May 25, 2026. Proton Security Service Limited confirmed the incident in a statement shared with PUNCH Metro on Tuesday.
The company stated that Adebanjo's actions have boosted trust in the discipline and professionalism of their security staff at various locations.
The statement said, “Adebanjo has been hailed as a true hero, showing that something great can still come out of here.”
Proton Security announced plans to reward Adebanjo for his actions. They will hold a special reception at their corporate headquarters.
“During this event, Adebanjo will be honored and rewarded for his display of integrity. The occasion will bring together colleagues, family members, friends, industry stakeholders, and media representatives to celebrate this remarkable act of honesty,” the statement said.
Odebunmi Adekunmi, the Managing Director of Proton Security Service Limited, praised Adebanjo’s actions. He said it was a proud moment for the company and a sign of its ethical standards.
