Man shot dead by gunmen near YABATECH

A man has been shot dead by two suspected gunmen near the back gate of the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos State.

This incident happened on Saturday evening while the victim was riding a motorcycle in the area.

A source from the community, who wanted to stay anonymous because of the sensitive nature of the case, said the attackers blocked the victim's way before opening fire.

"The incident happened in the evening, and the attack was sudden. He was on a motorcycle when two masked men appeared from nowhere, shot him, and ran away," the source said.

A police source told our reporter on Sunday that they have started an investigation to find out what happened and to identify those behind the killing.

"We got information about the incident and are working to find out what happened and who is responsible. There are signs that the shooting might be linked to cult activities," the source said.

The police source also confirmed that the body of the deceased has been taken to a morgue.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said she was not aware of the incident but promised to give an update.
