Lionel Messi has looked back on his time at Barcelona. He said the team was lucky to win major trophies and enjoy the journey and style of football that made them successful.
The Argentine forward shared that the special moments he had with his teammates at the Spanish club will always mean a lot to him. He added that Barcelona will always have a special place in his heart.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Thursday, the former Argentina captain said, “In Barcelona, we were lucky to win everything… not only because of what we achieved, but also because of the way we did it, and how much we enjoyed playing, winning, and achieving important milestones.”
He continued, “We loved the beautiful moments we spent together.”
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner also talked about his strong feelings for the club and the city. He described the love he still has for both.
“Barcelona means a lot to me. I feel special love for the city, the club. It will always be like this,” he said.
Messi had an amazing career at Barcelona. He became one of football’s best players and helped the club win many domestic and international titles.
His time at the Camp Nou was filled with success, including several La Liga titles and UEFA Champions League wins, along with individual awards that made him one of the greatest players ever.
He left Barcelona in 2021 when the club could not renew his contract due to financial issues. This ended his senior career at the club that started in 2004.
Even after leaving, Messi’s recent comments show his deep love for Barcelona and the great memories he made during one of the club’s most successful times.
