The Fulani group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has said it will only back the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections if the State Security Service (SSS) frees its national president, Bello Bodejo.
The group shared its stance at a press conference at Mr Bodejo’s home in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Fulani leaders from all over the country were present.
At the briefing, Akhajo Abubakar, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the group, said they will only support politicians who truly care about the Fulani community's progress.
"We did not vote for APC to arrest our leaders. Our votes this time will go to those who want our progress," Mr Abubakar stated.
He also mentioned that the Fulani community has over one million voters in Nasarawa State alone. But he did not provide any data to back this claim.
