Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State says more soldiers from the Nigerian Army will be sent to the state soon. This move is part of the effort to tackle insecurity in the area.
Mr Soludo shared this information in Awka on Friday. He spoke during the third anniversary celebration of the Eighth Anambra House of Assembly.
He mentioned that a team from the Nigerian Army had visited the state. They came to look at plans for setting up barracks in Anambra to help fight crime.
Mr Soludo believes the state is already making progress in the battle against crime. He said peace has returned to many communities, thanks to the support from President Bola Tinubu.
He also pointed out that the Tinubu administration is doing a lot to combat insecurity across Nigeria.
