The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Adamu, has urged security agencies to look into the killing of his coordinator in Alagye Electoral Ward, Doma Local Government Area. This tragic event was carried out by suspected kidnappers.
According to a condolence message from Mr Adamu, a retired inspector-general of police, the body of Baba Alhaji has been found. The news has shocked many, including Danladi Ekpo, the national president of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA). He identified the deceased as his cousin, known popularly as Young Money.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Mr Ekpo expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “Today he is a victim of circumstances, a victim of kidnapping. My brother died in the hands of kidnappers. Nigeria failed him, Nasarawa State failed him, Doma failed him, Alagye failed him,” he stated.
He described his cousin as someone he could always count on, especially during his election as NASSA national president. “Baba Alhaji was a cousin who looked after me as though there was no tomorrow. His constant visits, his check-ups, and his support, especially during my election, will never be forgotten,” he shared.
Ekpo called the death a painful loss and prayed for his cousin’s soul. In his own condolence message, Mr Adamu said this killing was a loss not just for his political family but also for the deceased’s relatives and the community at large. “This painful incident is a great loss to our political family, his loved ones, and the entire community. No words can adequately express the grief we feel over this unfortunate development,” he remarked.
Mr Adamu extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, associates, and members of the deceased's support group. He also prayed that Allah forgives the deceased’s shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Furthermore, Mr Adamu called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident, find those responsible, and ensure they face justice. PREMIUM TIMES reached out to Ramhan Nansel, the police public relations officer in Nasarawa State, for a response. As of the time of this report, he had not replied.
The details surrounding the abduction and killing, including who is responsible, are still unclear.
