The Nigerian Army has said goodbye to Master Warrant Officers who are leaving the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria. This took place during a ceremony at the conference room of the institution.

Chikadibia Anele, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations at Depot NA Zaria, shared on the Nigerian Army’s X handle on Saturday. He noted that the event had the Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, Brigadier General Usman Ahmad, principal staff officers, and heads of departments in attendance.

Brigadier General Ahmad spoke to the discharged soldiers. He urged them to build good relationships with their new communities and to be ambassadors of the Nigerian Army wherever they go.

He said, "Ensure peaceful relationships with the communities in which you choose to settle and remain good ambassadors of the Nigerian Army."

The Commandant encouraged the discharged soldiers to continue helping the civil populace. He also advised them to engage in hobbies and other activities to stay fit, now that they will not be going to work every day.

He said, "You should strive to protect the civil populace and achieve a balance by engaging in other hobbies and extracurricular activities to keep yourselves fit, as you no longer have the leisure of going to work every day."

Brigadier General Ahmad thanked the Master Warrant Officers for their service to the nation. He spoke on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu (Nigerian Army Medal), and wished the discharged personnel success in their future plans.

Master Warrant Officer Joshua Agwaru, the outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), spoke for the discharged officers. He expressed gratitude to the Commandant for his support and guidance during his time at the Depot.

Agwaru said, "We thank the Commandant for his mentorship and guidance. We assure the Commandant, the institution, and the Army at large that we will always be available when needed to serve in other capacities."

The ceremony included advice from officers, the presentation of souvenirs and gifts by the Commandant, and group photographs to mark the occasion.
