Popular singer Niniola Apata paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika. This happened during a service of songs before his burial this week.
Niniola was clearly emotional and wore all white. In a shaky voice, she spoke about their marriage as a true love story. She said, "My story with Michael is a love story. Michael did everything for me. He was breathing for me. He loved me, I loved him so much and I learnt so much from Michael. He showed me the ropes."
She shared how much Michael influenced her life and career. He helped her come out of her shell, even though she is usually reserved. Niniola said, "I got to meet his friends because naturally, I am a loner. I loved being alone. Michael met me raw and he said he will make me a superstar, and he did. I was just the face and the voice but Michael was the engine. Even when I decided to give music a break, he didn’t like it."
Feeling overwhelmed, Niniola talked about the huge gap Michael's death has left in her life. She said, "The first person I saw in the morning was Michael and the last person before I closed my eyes was Michael, so now what do I do? Tell me what do I do? Michael was the best thing and best person that ever happened to me. There was nothing he could do that could make me leave him."
She also thanked the Ndika family, saying, "And to the Ndika family, thank you for Michael. I know this came as a surprise to everyone, I’m sorry. Some people felt offended."
Remember that Niniola first announced Ndika’s death publicly. This news shocked many fans who didn’t know she was married. Since then, she has shared how hard it is to deal with the loss. She called her late husband her best friend, confidant, provider, and business partner.
