A well-known Nollywood movie director, Dimbo Atiya, has passed away.
Atiya reportedly died on Thursday morning, but the cause of his death has not been revealed yet.
Seun Oloketuyi, the founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, shared the news on Instagram.
He wrote, “Dimbo Atiya is dead. The top Nollywood director passed on this morning. Details later.”
Actor Mofe Duncan also paid tribute to the director on Instagram. He called Atiya’s death a big loss for the entertainment industry.
“God no, not Dimbo. I’m devastated. One of the greatest minds of the entertainment industry,” he wrote.
As of now, no official statement has been made regarding the details of Atiya’s death.
The news of his passing comes just hours after reports about the death of actress Tope Osoba surfaced.
