The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress recently held an interfaith prayer session as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. The party's governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, shared his belief that the APC will win.

Adeola spoke at the event on Wednesday. He said he trusts that God will help the party succeed and allow him to become the seventh Executive Governor of Ogun State.

He stated, “That same God that will give us victory on January 16 will also support me to become the seventh Executive Governor of Ogun State.”

The APC's governorship candidate also showed hope that the party would win without serious competition. He added, “God will give us victory and clear our path without a fight because there will be nobody contesting against us. God has started that already. On February 6, 2027, there will be nobody, because they are all partyless.”

He continued, “They are running helter-skelter to perfect their shortcomings, but God has spoken that He’s going to give us victory without a fight.”

The state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, also spoke during the prayer session. He said it was a chance for APC members to ask for God's guidance and to commit their plans for 2027 to Him.

Abiodun explained that the gathering was a way to put God first through prayers, songs, and gratitude. He is confident that their prayers will bring good results.

Looking back at his political path, the governor remembered the challenges of the 2019 governorship election. He said his rise to governor showed God's intervention.

He mentioned that the political situation back then was tough but insisted that the same God who helped him through those challenges can guide the state again.

“We have gathered here to seek the Almighty’s face and commit our journey of 2027 into His hands.
“Today, we have come here to put God first, to pray, dance and sing. I am very confident, without a doubt, that our hearts’ desires shall be granted by the men of God who have prayed for us.

“I recalled how the journey was in 2018. When we started, it was not like this at all; it was tough. But God has used me as a testimony.

“God of 2018 is still around, and He will continue to allow us to move smoothly from a sitting governor to the incoming governor,” Abiodun said.

The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, also participated in the prayers. She read passages from Second Chronicles, chapters 17 to 20.

Pastor J.T. Kalejaye from the Redeemed Christian Church of God delivered a message. He said the people need good leadership for better progress. He encouraged everyone to reject evil and seek God’s guidance and victory.

The APC's deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, also joined the prayer session by reading verses from the Holy Quran.
