The funeral service for late Nollywood star Olu Jacobs is happening today, Friday, at This Present House on Freedom Way, Lekki Phase I, Lagos. Family and important guests have come together to celebrate the life of the actor.
Live coverage by Lufodo Productions showed Jacobs’ wife, actress Joke Silva, and their sons, Olusoji and Olugbenga Jacobs, at the service, all dressed in blue.
Jacobs’ casket was placed at the front of the church, decorated with beautiful flowers as the funeral service began.
Notable attendees included Lagos State First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife, Chief Mrs Oluremi Hamzat; former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and former Ekiti State First Lady, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.
Olu Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
The funeral follows a Night of Tributes that took place on Wednesday, September 30, at Glover Memorial Hall, Marina, Lagos Island.
Guests at the funeral service today were asked to wear shades of green. After the service, there will be a private burial.
