More than 100 top African professionals will compete for a total prize of $25,000 at the first-ever Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic. The tournament will take place at Lakowe Lakes Golf Club in Lagos from November 18 to November 21, 2026.

This event is now part of the Sunshine Development Tour calendar, following a three-year sponsorship agreement. The tournament will be held at this location from 2026 to 2028.

The signing comes after the successful Lakowe Lakes Golf Classic held last weekend, where Ghana’s Vincent Torgah won in a thrilling sudden-death playoff. With two Tour events happening at Lakowe Lakes in quick succession, Nigeria is securing its position in the West African part of the Tour.

David Udungu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sunshine Development Tour, said more international events in Nigeria will greatly benefit the country’s professional players.

“Nigeria is gradually becoming a hub for professional golf, and the commitment shown by the management of Alpha Bravo is helping to drive that growth. The players will be the biggest beneficiaries of this initiative,” he said.

Tonbara Okoria, the Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Bravo Integrated Services, shared that the partnership shows the company’s dedication to creating lasting chances for professional golfers.

“Alpha Bravo’s passion for supporting the development of professional golf aligns perfectly with the Sunshine Development Tour’s vision of identifying and developing talent across Africa,” Okoria said.

The organisers are also working hard to ensure the event meets international professional tournament standards. Uche Isikaku mentioned that they are preparing thoroughly.

“We are committed to delivering a world-class experience at the event, with registration, officiating and other key aspects being handled professionally,” he said.

Femi Olagbenro from Lakowe Lakes Golf Club noted that this agreement, following the first Tour event at the club, supports the management’s efforts to attract more corporate backing for professional golf in Nigeria.

The three-year commitment also ensures stability for players and the Tour, with the Classic now set to be a regular part of the schedule until 2028.
