The Ilorin Central Mosque Committee has shared that they dug over 30 boreholes to provide water access. They did this despite facing financial challenges.
Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Adebayo, the committee chairman, spoke at a recent community meeting. He stressed how important water is for the community's growth and health. Adebayo pointed out that the boreholes have greatly improved the living conditions for residents, especially with ongoing water shortages.
He expressed concern about the lack of sufficient funding from both government and private sources. This shortage makes it hard to keep and grow their water supply projects. The chairman urged stakeholders to come together and invest in water infrastructure. This investment would help ensure that everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water.
Adebayo also mentioned the committee's promise to look for new ways to tackle the water problems the community faces. He encouraged residents to take care of the boreholes and keep them maintained for the future.
