The Abia State Police have arrested a 22-year-old man named Chidera Okorie. He is from Obinolu Ngodo Isiochi I in Umunneochi Local Government Area. This arrest is linked to alleged armed robbery.
On Saturday, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer, shared this news. She spoke on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa. The police made the arrest after getting what they called “actionable intelligence.”
The police report says that on June 5, officers from the Isuochi Divisional Police Headquarters caught Chidera Okorie. The report states he is known for robbing unsuspecting people. He used a stainless lighter that looks like a gun to scare his victims.
Because of this, he was able to steal from them. The police also mentioned that they found other items related to the crimes during his arrest.
The police are still investigating the case. They said Chidera Okorie would be taken to court once the investigation is complete.
The Commissioner of Police encouraged the public to report any security issues to the nearest police station. This is to help keep Abia State safe.
