Police Rescue One Student After Abduction at Nasarawa University

Gunmen have kidnapped three students from the Federal University of Lafia. The police managed to rescue one of the victims during a search operation in Nasarawa State.

The Nasarawa State Police Command shared this news in a statement on Wednesday. The spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, provided details about the incident.

The students were taken on Tuesday night from Living Seed Lodge. This lodge is in a bushy area on the outskirts of the students' residential community in Lafia.

The police received a distress call around 9:20 p.m. from the university’s Chief Security Officer. He reported that armed men had abducted three students.

"Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, immediately ordered tactical teams and patrol operatives to head to the scene."

"The operatives quickly mobilized and began a coordinated search-and-rescue operation in the nearby forest."

Thanks to the quick action of the police, one of the abducted students was rescued. The police are now working hard to find the other two students still in captivity and to catch the kidnappers.

The commissioner has instructed all operational and intelligence teams to keep up the search until the remaining victims are safely rescued. He reassured residents that the police will do everything possible to bring the kidnappers to justice.

The command has urged the public to stay calm and alert. They asked people to provide any helpful information that could assist in the ongoing operation.

Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station.
