The Kaduna State Police have rescued three people who were kidnapped and held for over 40 days. They also arrested five suspected informants linked to the kidnapping group.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, shared this news in a statement on Saturday in Kaduna.

Hassan explained that the rescue operation was done by a joint security team led by officers from Fushin Kada. They worked together with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Hunkuyi.

He said the operation was based on careful intelligence gathering, close surveillance, and organized security efforts that led the team to a hideout of the suspected bandits.

"When the bandits saw the security teams approaching, they ran away, leaving the victims behind, who were then rescued unharmed," he said.

The rescued victims are Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu from Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa from Tufa Village in Niger State.

Hassan mentioned that the victims were taken to the police clinic for medical checks and treatment before reuniting with their families.

He also noted that five suspected informants were arrested during the investigation.

Preliminary investigations showed that these suspects allegedly gave information and support to the kidnappers.

"The suspects admitted their involvement in the crime during questioning," he stated.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Rabiu Muhammad, praised the professionalism and teamwork among the security agencies that made the rescue possible.

Muhammad promised that the command would keep working hard to fight kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state.

He also encouraged residents to keep supporting the security forces with quick and reliable information, emphasizing that community help is vital in the fight against crime.

The police commissioner added that investigations are still ongoing to catch other members of the criminal group and make sure everyone involved faces justice.
